Frog Marriage at Mekhliganj For Appeasing Rain Gods [VIDEO]

Webdesk, TNI Mekhliganj, 20^th July, 2017: The absence of rains in North Bengal is affecting the entire North Bengal especially the agriculture based villages in India. This is leading people leaning towards superstitions. According to Rajbonshi Society, it is said that when the God of Frogs gets angry then there are no rains. This made the people perform Frog wedding in various villages of Coochbehar Districts and adjoining Jalpaiguri districts. In Mekhliganj also the same is being followed this year. The Frog wedding is observed at Nijtorof Village in Mekhliganj Block. The villagers collect subscription and organized the Frog wedding. Interestingly, the educated youth of the villages were seen actively participating in the superstitious ritual. There were many anti comments that came forward against the act.
